"Out Of Breath"

Comme je vous l'ai dit (ici), je suis étudiante dans une école de cinéma. Dans le cadre de mes études donc, je dois réaliser des courts-métrages avec une petite équipe composée de mes camarades de classe. Pour ce court-métrage (voir ci dessous), le thème donné par notre professeur était la course poursuite. 
As I have told you (here), I am a student in film school. As part of my studies I have to make short films with a small team made of my classmates. In this short film (see below), the theme provided by our teacher was the chase.

Notre idée de base: / Our idea : Une fille se fait poursuivre par un "spectre". A la fin de sa course,  elle se rend compte que cette ombre qui la suit est en fait une hallucination. 
A girl gets chased by a "spectrum". At the end of her race, she realizes that the shadow that follows her is actually an hallucination.

Ce que nous avons décidé d'en faire : What we decided to make out of it :
Nous avons fait une petite introduction au début pour que le spectateur comprenne un peu notre personnage principal : une jeune femme pas très bien dans sa peau, pas très bavarde et pensive. Peut-être que ce n'est pas très clair à la première vision du court-métrage mais si nous avions décidé de commencer tout de suite par l'apparition du spectre dans l'appartement, il y aurait eu moins de suspens et tout aurait été trop rapide. 
We made a brief introduction at the beginning for the viewer to understand a little bit more our main character: a young woman not very confident and not very talkative. Maybe it's not very clear when you first watch it, but if we had decided to start immediately with the appearance of the spectrum in the apartment, there would have been less suspense and it would have been too fast.

Ensuite, je ne sais pas si vous l'avez remarqué mais nous avons travaillé sur les lumières. D'abord dans le couloir on est dans une ambiance plutôt froide avec des tons bleus, gris... Ensuite on passe par un peu toutes les couleurs, du jaune-vert, au rose-violet pour finir au rouge-orange. Le changement de couleurs illustrent en quelque sorte le monde irréel dans lequel le personnage se déplace, monde qui existe uniquement dans sa tête. 
Then I do not know if you've noticed, but we worked on the lights. First in the hallway one is in a rather cold environment with blue, gray ... Then we go through a little all colors, from yellow-green to purple to pink to orange-red finish. The change of color illustrate somehow unreal world in which the character moves, the world that exists only in his head.

Pour ce qui est de la musique, nous voulions, plus qu'une chanson, un accompagnement sonore étrange qui s'adaptait au "monde" que nous avons créé. 
In terms of music, we wanted more than a song, a strange sound accompaniment which fitted the "world" that we created.  Voilà donc pour les "explications". J'espère que cela vous a plu! N'hésitez pas à commenter :) That's it for the "explanations". I hope you enjoyed it! Feel free to comment :)
